Principal

Julie Cordell was named Principal of Sloman Primary School in November of 2022. She  served as an assistant principal for Douglas Elementary School and Asbury Elementary School in 2021. She was a middle school English language arts (ELA) teacher and is an English Adjunct Instructor for Snead State Community College. Ms. Cordell received her ELA Bachelor's from Athens State University, ELA Masters from the University of Alabama, and her ELA Ed.S and administration certificate from Jacksonville State University.  She served on the task force to help write the ELA course of study for the Alabama State Department of Education in 2020. She has educational experience ranging from preK through college level. Ms. Cordell loves to see students grow in positive directions and is enjoying her journey at Sloman Primary School.
